I am a Research Team Leader at MaRCCI. I began my career studying plant breeding, genetics, and seed systems, which got me interested in using biotechnology, genomic and photometric tools to improve crops and increase sustainability for smallholder farmers in Africa. Currently, my research focuses on improving Cowpea and Sorghum for high yield potential, enhanced nutrition, multiple stress-resilience (drought, diseases, and insect pest resistance), and quality traits. I provide mentorship to graduate students at Makerere University.
