- IMPROVING LIVELIHOODS OF SMALL SCALE PRODUCERS IN UGANDA THROUGH DIGITAL ADVISORY SERVICES, FUNDED BY MAK RIF
To establish a digital agri-business ecosystem that supports SSPs to improve their yield and farm gate prices of sorghum and cowpea thus enhancing food, nutrition and income security and climate resilience and adaptation, empowering women and youth and promoting agri-preneurship.
Other specific objectives include;
- To establish a bundled digital decision-support services for SSPs in the selected value chains that promotes farmer’s aggregation, marketing of surpluses and lowering of transactions costs
- To develop and make available action-oriented information that supports SSP decision-making and timely implementation of appropriate activities in the crop production cycle thus increasing production and income
- To determine how adoption and adaptation of the digital support service varies across SSP crop value chains and across demographic groups
- To identify impediments to adoption and system effectiveness and propose remedies that will facilitate scale-out and sustainability.
